St Mary’s Primary School Nursery Alterations
Project details
186 were delighted to deliver a five week programme of development works and alterations for St. Marys Primary School Nursery.
The extensive project covered works including courtyard improvements, internal rooms and child provisions, plus mechanical and electrical works.
In addition, new double-glazed aluminium doors replaced existing double-glazed screens and existing windows received new black out film for improved energy efficiency and privacy.

Courtyard area works included a new 1.8m high grey painted metal fence across the middle of the existing footpath and installation of a new metal gate. All works were delivered to match the existing provisions, and an existing metal gate was also rehung. In addition, the existing tarmac was made good, new artificial grass was laid and a new tarmac ramp area was created. Decoration was carried out to the external timber cladding.
Internally, the existing staff room was changed into a nursery WC and changing room including cubicles and 2 hand wash basins. The carpet flooring was removed and new non-slip flooring was supplied and installed. A radiator was moved in the new bathroom and full decoration works were carried out to the nursery area and new WC.
Mechanical and Electrical works included a new stud partition wall to form a resized technical store and included stud wall decoration. Pac access control was added to the existing system and a fire rated access panel was added around the existing electrical services.
Fire stopping works also included installation of a new 30 minute fire door. The existing heating system was drained down and cleaned. Extensive electrical works also included power, lighting, fire and smoke detection alarms, IT and security.
Project status – Completed on time and within budget.
