NEC Nottingham – Industrial unit clearance & reinstatement

Project details

186 were very happy to support NEC Nottingham with a comprehensive series of alterations, refurbishments and electrical works to update their existing facility and create a fresh, modern space, suitable for ongoing operational use.

Key preparation works included the demolition and safe disposal of redundant partition walls and the removal of suspended ceilings. This work helped to open up the workspace and enable reconfiguration.

Damaged or defective cladding panels were removed and new materials were installed to restore the integrity and appearance of wall surfaces.

The existing racking system was carefully dismantled and removed to clear the area for subsequent refurbishment and an improved layout.

Comprehensive electrical works and a full electrical installation was carried out and delivered in accordance with current industry standards and statutory regulations.

To start, all redundant mechanical and electrical services were safely isolated and stripped to help facilitate the reconfiguration works.

The small power and data installations were then upgraded to meet the revised layout and operational requirements.

The existing fire alarm system was reconfigured to suit the new spatial arrangement. The system was subsequently commissioned and fully retested to confirm correct operation and ensuring full compliance with BS 5839.

Air conditioning supplies were reconfigured to ensure efficient and effective control throughout the unit. Emergency lighting testing was undertaken in line with BS 5266 – The British Standard for emergency lighting in buildings.

A comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) was completed in accordance with BS 7671 – the British Standard for electrical installations which sets the requirements for safety, design, and verification of wiring systems.

The site refurbishment works were completed with the supply and installation of new floor coverings throughout. This work ensured the designated areas benefitted from enhanced durability, safety and hugely improved the overall presentation of the workspace.

Finally, full decoration of the office areas included preparation and finishing of walls, ceilings and woodwork to deliver a modern, clean and refreshed working environment.
